earth Hour is a worldwide movement organiSed by THE WWF. The ANNUAL EVENT encouragES PEOPLE to give an hour for Earth AND SWITCH OFF NON ESSENTIAL LIGHTS for one hour.

THE BRIEF:

This brief was set by One Minute Briefs. The brief read: “We’re looking for the OMBLES to create posters using the clock motif provided to encourage people from around the world to put the spotlight on our planet and take part in #EarthHour, tomorrow evening at 8:30pm.”

THE PROBLEM:

The brief was posted on twitter, and entrants only had one day to complete their submissions. It was a collaboration between One Minute Briefs and WWF in aim of raising awareness for their Earth Hour campaign. The posters had to convey the message and essence of the Earth Hour campaign as well as being immediately cohesive and moving.

THE SOLUTION:

A number of simple, easily understandable posters that centred on the idea of humans connecting with animals within the ‘Earth Hour’. Visually, this manifested as a hand reaching out to other animals, all within the ‘clock’ to demonstrate the feeling of increased closeness to nature within the event. This submission won and was featured throughout the campaign.
